A Toyota quer mostrar que o novo Corolla é um carro para todos, e para isso participa do SEMA com cinco versões preparadas do hatchback - a única carroceria da nova geração que está à venda no momento. Por anos a fabricante fez carros confiáveis, mas que não emocionavam os seus proprietários. Talvez participar do maior evento de carros customizados do mundo ajude a mudar essa imagem.

Para isso, a Toyota entregou o novo Corolla a diversas empresas e cada uma podia fazer o que quisesse em termos de modificações, o que deu origem à versões com propostas bem diferentes.

Toyota Corolla Super Street SEMA Custom

Com bodykit e pintura vermelha, o Super Street Corolla é inspirado nos carros tunados japoneses, compondo o famoso estilo JDM ou "Japanese Domestic Market". Além do visual invocado, tem melhorias mecânicas para uso em pista. Por dentro, o hatch recebeu bancos aquecidos e um sistema de som melhor.

Toyota Corolla SoCal Kustomz SEMA Custom

Um dos modelos mais invocados da lista, o SoCal Kustoms Corolla mistura a atitude e estilo dos hot-rods com um pouco dos visuais malucos da franquia Velozes e Furiosos. Recebe ainda um sistema de nitro para ganhar um pouco mais de potência nas disputas de arrancada. Dá até para imaginar esse carro no próximo filme do Vin Diesel...

Toyota Corolla Papadakis Racing Drift Car SEMA Custom

Este Corolla chegou ao extremo de receber tração traseira, sendo criado especialmente para competições de drift. No momento, é só um conceito, mas poderia muito bem participar da Formula D ou do D1 Grand Prix. Além de ser capaz de andar de lado, ainda recebeu um bodykit mais largo.

Toyota Corolla Muscle Tuner SEMA Custom

Prometendo chamar mais atenção do que o Corolla da SoCal Kustomz, o modelo da Muscle Tuner apelou para o passado como forma de conquistar o público, com uma pintura que homenageia o clássico Sprinter Trueno AE86 (que foi vendido nos EUA como Corolla GTS). Infelizmente, não tem tração traseira, mas suas cores prestam tributo ao AE86 com pintura Panda (branco com detalhes pretos), além de receber kit nitro no motor e suspensão especial.

Toyota Corolla Hoonigan Camera Car

Hoonigan é o nome normalmente associado ao piloto Ken Block, que disputa provas de rally pela Ford. Mas, ao invés de ficar na frente das câmeras, este carro estará fazendo as cenas do próximo Gymkhana. Modificado para carregar câmeras, ele é a máquina definitiva de filmagem.
